Jay Cutler may be done in Chicago after latest injury

Chicago Bears fans have been bracing for life after Jay Cutler for what seems like forever, but it may actually be time to move on after his latest injury. It sounds like it will end his season and potentially his career with the team.

The Bears were already dealing with leading tackler Jerrell Freeman being suspended four games and now will be starting essentially their fourth-string quarterback the rest of the season in Matt Barkley. Connor Shaw and Brian Hoyer both had season-ending injuries —— Shaw's a broken leg in preseason and Hoyer's a broken arm in October —- so that leaves only Barkley left standing.

Cutler also missed five games earlier in the season because of a thumb injury and hasn't played a full season of 16 games since his first year in Chicago in 2009. Should they decide to take the action, the Bears can release or trade Cutler after this season and take only a $2 million salary-cap hit.
