You see flips all the time from high school recruits. But from graduate transfers this late in the process? That's definitely a rare occurrence.

However, that's what happened on Thursday, as USC grad transfer and former four-star recruit Khaliel Rodgers announced that he would be transferring to North Carolina, not Iowa State as he had previously announced.

"North Carolina is a great school," Rodgers told Scout in an interview. "... It's just a great coaching staff and they gave me an opportunity."

Proximity to his home in Delaware was also important to Rodgers, as he mentioned that North Carolina is only a short flight from his home, and it's obviously much less of a travel burden than Iowa or California.

Rodgers started 10 games in his career at USC. He is a former four-star recruit of the 2013 class, where 247Sports' player rankings had him ranked as the No. 1 center of the class.
