Holly Holm's next opponent won't be Ronda Rousey

UFC president Dana White announced Wednesday on Fox Sports 1's UFC Tonight that Holly Holm and her camp will get their collective wish with a title defense before the slated big-money rematch at UFC 200 in July against former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

Holm and her team have clamored for weeks that she prefers not to wait until the rematch to get another fight in. A challenger, nor a date, was announced, but the expectation would be for Miesha Tate (17-5) would fight the undefeated (10-0) Holm in the coming months.

With two movies set to film, along with media obligations, it's hard to see Rousey being ready for the rematch in July as it is. After the wild first matchup where Rousey looked simply outmatched against the former boxer and kickboxer, don't be surprised if Holm notches more than one fight before Rousey gets her second crack at the champ.

Rousey was 2-0 against Tate in their only matchups, winning both by armbar submission.
