2018 quarterback prospect Camm Cooper is a bit of a late riser in the minds of some, but the talented signal-caller from Lehi (Utah) is a four-star recruit with a real ceiling. On Sunday, the 6'4", 200-pound Cooper made the decision to shun some traditional college football power brokers in favor of a commitment to the Washington State Cougars.

Programs like Georgia, North Carolina and Ole Miss were reportedly in the mix to the end for Cooper, but he indicated to Blair Angulo of Scout that Wazzu was his choice for a defined reason.
"I've just had a great feeling about Washington State for a while."
"From the first day, the coaches at Washington State told me I was the No. 1 guy they wanted. I felt like a high priority talking to other schools, too, but I just had the best feelings with Washington State."
It makes sense that a quarterback in his mold would be drawn to Mike Leach but it is always something of a surprise when a four-star player chooses a program like Washington State over big-time programs elsewhere. It is a reminder, though, that investing heavily (and early) on the recruiting trail can work wonders for programs that might be perceived as on a lower level than the blue bloods.
Camm Cooper is headed to Pullman and the sky is the limit.
