Another top recruit is off the board!
Four-star defensive end Deonte "D.J." Johnson (6-foot-5, 240 pounds, Sacramento, CA) announced his commitment via the video above, where he picked Miami over UCLA, Oregon, and Texas.
Even though he is only a four-star, Johnson might be the most sought after recruit of the 2017 recruiting class with a total of 96 offers. Most teams usually just don't offer if they don't think they have a chance at a recruit; it seems like everyone not only wanted Johnson, but thought they had a real shot at him, too.

Miami now has 18 commitments for their 2017 class, and Johnson is now their second highest-rated commit according to the 247Sports Composite. The Hurricanes are currently ranked as the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation.
