
According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, former NFL linebacker Ryan Jones was shot and killed on Sunday evening in Reno. Jones was only 26 years old.
Per the Gazette-Journal, Jones was found on Sunday with two other men that had been shot. The Reno Police Department did not release extensive details, but did reveal that Jones died at the scene before he could be taken to a local medical facility.
Jones, a Montana Tech alumnus, was the first player in that school's history to make the NFL. Jones had signed to play with both the Ravens and the Giants before injuries eventually derailed his playing career. Jones had been training in competitive mixed martial arts before his death.
