The last time Florida State missed the NCAA tournament was 1977.
Miami, who finished 31-27, had made the NCAA tournament 44 straight times. The last time the Hurricanes missed the tournament before 2017 was in 1972.
Despite the tournament streak, Florida State has never won a national championship in baseball. The Seminoles were the runner-up in 1970, 1986, and 1999, and they have appeared in the College World Series 21 times.
The Seminoles will host the No. 4 seed Tennessee Tech in the first game of their NCAA regional. The other two teams in their region are No. 2 seed UCF and No. 3 seed Auburn.
