
Jaren Jackson is the No. 22 player in the country according to 247Sports and the No. 8 power forward in the class of 2017. The La Lumiere (Indiana) product was expected to commit to Maryland with Purdue given a small chance behind the Terps, but he went in a completely different direction. He'll be going north to Michigan State to play for Tom Izzo:

That's a huge blow to Maryland who still doesn't have anyone committed in the class and this gave the Spartans their first commitment. The 6'10", 220-pound forward also considered Georgetown and Notre Dame before deciding on MSU.
