On Friday, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott had an administrative stay granted in his case against his six-game NFL suspension. Elliott will now be free to play in the Cowboys' game on Sunday against the Washington Redskins.
After being granted the stay, Elliott made a statement on his continued battle against the NFL:

This is bigger than a suspension. It's bigger than football. It's them trying to make me something I'm not. I'm not an abuser. That's not who I am. This is my name and this is my reputation. That's something that I have to live with beyond football so, everyday is worth fighting.
Elliott's six-game suspension stems from domestic violence allegations made against him over the past year. While Elliott was not charged in any domestic violence incident, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has the power to suspend players under the league's personal conduct policy.
Elliott had appealed his suspension to the courts, much in the same manner that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady did during the DeflateGate scandal. Elliott's appeal was initially denied, but Elliott has been able to get the suspension put on stay multiple times now.
