This is so incredibly sad to hear. One of the most talented young beach players is gone.

"The AVP is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Eric Zaun. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. He will be deeply missed."

A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Eric Zaun attended Limestone College in South Carolina, according to his AVP profile. He was an outside hitter for the men's indoor team, moved to Florida and then to Southern California to begin his professional career as a beach volleyball player.

"I love the culture and the lifestyle associated with beach volleyball," Zaun said in an interview with Volleyballmag.com in 2017. "It's great to be able to travel around the country to different beaches and locations doing what you love."

The entire volleyball community is mourning after this huge loss. RIP Eric Zaun.
