Eastern Michigan was 0-58 against Power 5 teams and 0-38 against Big Ten teams heading into Saturday's contest against Rutgers. Finally, the Eagles overcame the odds to beat Rutgers, 16-13 in a pretty sloppy game.
In the final seconds, Eastern Michigan did everything they could to give the game away. A roughing the passer call gave Rutgers a shot and the Eagles called a timeout as the play clock was set to expire, but Eastern Michigan survived for the win.
Quarterback Brogan Roback threw for 260 yards and one score. A stout defense kept Kyle Bolin in check and a pick-6 helped seal the deal.
