New California Golden Bears head coach Justin Wilcox already has his work cut out for him in rebuilding Cal, but it's only going to get harder in Year 1 with starting offensive guard Dwayne Wallace leaving the program.

New California Golden Bears head coach Justin Wilcox already has his work cut out for him in rebuilding Cal, but it's only going to get harder in Year 1 with starting offensive guard Dwayne Wallace leaving the program.

The university announced the stunning news via a very brief press release.

Via CollegeFootballTalk:

"In a very short and terse press release, the football program announced that "Dwayne Wallace is no longer associated with the school's football program." No reason was given for what could be best described as an eyebrow-raising departure."

Wallace, at 6'4", 350 lbs was a solid piece to the Golden Bears offensive line a season ago. And Wilcox needed him to help provide more stability to the team, as they've lost multiple starters on the o-line this offseason for various reasons.

Wallace was a three-star recruit coming out high school in Riverside, CA.
