Dickie V: Pitino took a lie detector test for investigation

ESPN personality and catch-phrase machine Dickie V said something very interesting on the Duke-N.C. State telecast Saturday. He got into one of his rant modes and went on about the Louisville self-imposed postseason ban and the ensuing investigation and what that means for the current team.

He specifically mentioned that coach Rick Pitino had taken a lie detector test to prove that he didn't know anything about the dancers and strippers being paid by one of his graduate assistants. Dickie V then doubled down on Twitter to back himself up.

For all those screaming that Rick Pitino knew about the sex parties-a FACT -a source told me that Pitino took a LIE DETECTOR test & passed!

— Dick Vitale (@DickieV) February 6, 2016

If Vitale's source is right about this then that should certainly help the public perception of Pitino, but it won't help him in a legal sense. However, current NCAA rules find head coaches responsible for everything that goes on in a program, even if they are not directly aware of an incident.
