Former All-SEC selection and 2014 second-round pick Cyrus Kouandjio was just the latest release from former general manager Doug Whaley's tenure.
Kouandjio, just 23, started five games last season and has started just seven games in three seasons.
This comes just months after an incident involving police resulted in Kouandijo yelling "shoot me" at the officer.
There was an accident on Route 400 in Elma, New York, though Kouandijo was not involved. However, police found Kouandijo in a field after he had just jumped over an electric fence without all his clothes on not far from the accident.
Kouandijo wasn't arrested, and police weren't even aware of who he was when they first found him. They found his vehicle abandoned, and discovered his identity and that he played for the Bills after seeing team gear in his vehicle.
According to the police source, police believe Kouandijo saw the flashing police lights from the accident and pulled over before he attempted to run away on foot.
The team later released a statement:
"We are aware of the matter involving Cyrus and are carefully monitoring his condition and gathering more information," the Bills said. "We don't have all of the details, so we won't have any further comment at this time."
