It's been a tumultuous two months for fans of Johnny Manziel. In January during the Browns' last game of the season against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team was unable to locate Manziel, who was on the NFL's concussion protocol for the week. Then last Saturday, news broke that the quarterback was involved in a domestic incident with his girlfriend in Fort Worth, Tx. According to the police report, authorities were looking for Manziel using a helicopter. Although no arrests or charges were made, it was the second incident involving his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley — the two had a separate incident last October in Ohio.
Given all of this, some Cleveland Browns fans are now boycotting the quarterback on Twitter for the entire month of February. Per the Associated Press, Browns fans are calling it "Johnny Free February." The movement, according to longtime Browns fan Chris McNeil, was concocted by his 8-year-old daughter (yeah, okay buddy) after hearing about more bad news involving Manziel.
McNeil told the AP that 750 people have signed up for his campaign "not to tweet, retweet, or mention Johnny Manziel on Twitter in February or until he is no longer a Cleveland Brown" as of Monday morning. Who knew 8-year-olds knew so much about Twitter?
