By now you've seen the comments that Peyton Manning made to Bill Belichick after the AFC Championship game that suggested this season might be his last. Informing Belichick that this season 'might be his last rodeo' has made the rounds to just about everyone — even the Broncos' upcoming opponent in Super Bowl 50, the Carolina Panthers. Now that they know this is potentially Manning's final game in the NFL, you might expect the team to be emotionally struck by this — matching up against one of the league's all-time greats in his last game might make a team want to tread lightly. However, Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert says this isn't the case whatsoever.
"We don't really care if this is his last game," Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert said via the Charlotte-Observer. "He's played what - 18, 19 years? He's had enough, you know what I'm saying? It's our turn."
Panthers safety Tre Boston also chimed in and made a glorious analogy about how Manning retiring from football is just like going after the slice of pizza that's left in the world — you won't hesitate to take it. "So if a man has the last piece of pizza in the world, are you going to take that last piece?" Boston asked. "One of y'all got to live! One of us has to win, and I'm not trying to lose. It's you and that one man. You gonna live or not? I'm trying to win. I don't care who you are." So next Sunday, don't expect the Panthers to come out not swinging against Manning and the Broncos. The Panthers, unlike almost everyone in the league, won't be too concerned if Manning gets beat in his final outing as an NFL quarterback. You Might Also Like
