Via ESPN:

"The New York Knicks and Houston Rockets are working on multiple trade scenarios involving Carmelo Anthony, including some that include four teams, sources have told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski."

"Both sides are motivated to make a trade, but no agreement is imminent, sources told Wojnarowski."

This is certainly interesting, as a three- or four-team deal makes a lot of sense with all the moving parts involved here.

For the Rockets, the team needs to move Ryan Anderson's contract to bring in Anthony, but it makes sense as to why the Knicks aren't interested in the years and money there. The Rockets need to find a contender that would be willing to eat Anderson's contract, and Milwaukee does make some sense, as The Ringer's Bill Simmons points out below:

This is the multi-team Melo/Rockets trade that makes the most sense. NYK waives nonguaranteed Quarterman/Long. Gets future 1st from Houston. pic.twitter.com/0YXrnu60ZM

The Knicks don't need to replace Melo's contract with more salary, though, as the team needs to get younger around superstar Kristaps Porzingis. The Rockets don't have young, attractive pieces the Knicks should want, but if they can get a team like Portland or Denver involved, it'd definitely make a potential four-team deal a lot more interesting.

Whatever the case, it should be interesting to see if the teams can work something out in the company days.
