Wide receiver Anquan Boldin may be looking to restart his NFL career for the second time in less than a month.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe is reporting that following Julian Edelman's season-ending injury, the New England Patriots reportedly "recently" had mutual interest. If Boldin does decide to unretire, he'd face a fight against the Buffalo Bills, who hold his rights on the team's reserve/retired list.

Bolding informed the Buffalo Bills on his retirement plans at the end of August, according to ESPN's Jim Trotter.

Boldin signed with Buffalo on August 7 and planned on playing in his 15th NFL season.

Boldin, a three-time Pro Bowler, finished his career with 1,076 receptions, 13,779 yards and 82 touchdowns. During his 15 NFL seasons he has played for four other NFL teams, most notably the Arizona Cardinals and Baltimore Ravens, recording 104 yards and a touchdown during a 34-31 victory in Super Bowl XLVII.
