After dropping the WWE Universal Championship Sunday night to Goldberg in the main event of Fastlane, Kevin Owens opened Monday Night Raw by accepting a challenge against his former best friend Chris Jericho, with only one caveat — the match has to be for the United States championship.
Jericho didn't take long accepting the bout and it was set.
The match is set after a back-and-forth affair between the fellow Canadians.
Owens explained what led to him putting his old buddy's head through a television less than a month ago:
That led to Jericho showing up Sunday night to distract Owens, giving Goldberg the opening for the less than 30-second victory.
