
Florida absolutely needed a win against LSU if it wanted to get to the SEC Championship Game for the second year in a row. With the win over the Tigers the Gators became the first team in the division to do this:
Florida is the only SEC East team to beat an SEC West team on the road in 2016.
Of course, Florida didn't play an SEC West team at home.

Florida was supposed to play LSU at home until Hurricane Matthew forced the teams to reschedule so that's why the Gators never ended up with a home game against an SEC West opponent. It wasn't pretty, but the Gators forced two crucial turnovers and got a goal line stand to win the game 16-10. To Atlanta they go!
