UCLA had a pretty great season last year making it to the Sweet 16 and winning 31 games against only five losses. It was so good that the school is giving Alford his contract extension back that he volunteered to give up after a particularly difficult 2015-16 season where the team went 15-17 and 6-12 in conference play.

Outside of that season, Alford has led the Bruins to the Sweet 16 each of those other three seasons. In his four seasons at UCLA he has a 96-45 record overall and 44-28 record in the conference. Alford should have a solid team this year that might under the radar considering Lonzo Ball is gone and his much quieter brother in LiAngelo is on campus now.
