Georgia and Notre Dame football have only met once in their long histories despite both squads being so dominant for so long. The Bulldogs won that game 17-10 in 1981 (for the 1980 season) to take home the 1980 season national championship. The two schools have another date, this time in the regular season in week 2 of the 2017 season and now that game has an official kickoff time.

The week 2 showdown should be a promising one as there will be plenty of pressure on both schools to win considering they each come off cupcake week 1 matchups and are on different hot seats. UGA coach Kirby Smart is expected to win the SEC East and get to Atlanta while Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is expected to win a lot more than 2016's four games.
Georgia starts its season at home against Appalachian State while Notre Dame will host Temple in week 1.
