Len Bias was a legendary player at Maryland and was the ACC's Player of the Year in 1985 and 1986 when he was also selected by the Boston Celtics in the NBA Draft as the second overall pick. The 6'8" forward was supposed to replace the legendary Larry Bird when he decided to retire and had a very similar build to the Celtics power forward.
The 1986 draft was on June 17th and it was only two days later that Bias left this world after an overdose of cocaine. Today marks the 30th anniversary of his passing and it's only fitting we remember him when he was at his best, playing basketball and dominating on the court.
