It has not been a good college football season so far for the LSU Tigers, and now pundits are simply pouring on.
Recently, respected CBS columnist Dennis Dodd suggested that the Tigers take a page out of the Nebraska playbook and fire their AD — even at this point of the season.
Legendary college football coach Steve Spurrier has also gotten in on the fun, taking some time recently to take a jab at the Tigers, specifically mentioning a game last year that saw the Tigers lose to one of Spurrier's former teams, the Florida Gators. "The Head Ball Coach" currently has a role with the Gators as an "ambassador and consultant," a gig he started before last season.
Ranked No. 16 in the nation at the time, LSU dropped the game to No. 23 Florida, losing 16-10. This despite the fact that the game was originally postponed and moved from Gainesville to Baton Rouge — making a tough road game a home game for the Tigers.
Here's Spurrier, who was speaking on ESPNU in advance to this weekend's contest between the Gators and Tigers.
"We had an open date same time they did and we were willing to play them then here (in Florida) on that open date," he said. "But they wanted that open date before they were going to kick Alabama's tail and that didn't work out very well for them."
LSU had the week off between its game against No. 23 Ole Miss (a win) and No. 1 Alabama, which ended up being a 10-0 loss. The Gators were willing to play the Tigers down in Florida between those two games, but apparently, LSU wanted to prepare for 'Bama instead. But of course, it didn't matter.

LSU ended up losing to both Alabama and Florida.
Spurrier coached college football for 26 years, including a 12-year stint with the Gators. Florida is 3-1 and first in the SEC East heading into this contest. LSU is 3-2 with a recent loss to Troy.
