Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Stephen Paea has abruptly retired at the age of 29, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Paea is a former second-round pick from the 2011 NFL Draft, playing his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears. He jumped to the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns over the last two seasons before playing this year with the Cowboys.
He's played in 83 games over his career, with 43 starts. He finishes his career with 14.0 sacks, one safety, 76 tackles and three forced fumbles.
He had started all four of five games for the Cowboys this season. He sat against the Green Bay Packers after suffering a knee injury earlier this season.
