The South Carolina Gamecocks were not very good on defense in 2014 and a lot of people have been calling for Lorenzo Ward —- the current defensive coordinator —- to be fired. However, Spurrier has already said on several occasions that he is retaining his entire staff, but it looks like he will be adding Jon Hoke to his staff. Hoke was actually the defensive coordinator under Spurrier at Florida from 1999 to 2001 and he was not retained by the NFL's Chicago Bears after they announced the hiring of head coach John Fox. For those wondering, Hoke is the older brother of former Michigan head coach Brady Hoke.
