Simone Biles' Rare Yurchenko Double Pike Vault Proves She's the Greatest

Is there anything Simone Biles can't do?

She can backflip into a first pitch, she can change clothes while doing a handstand, she can get her food delivered to her quickly while practicing.

I don't think she can touch rim, but I wouldn't rule that out.

Ahead of podium training for Saturday's U.S. Classic, the four-time Olympic gold medalist accomplished something that's never been done before.

Let's head over to the vault. Biles and the rest of Team USA are warming up the competition.

She speeds down the runaway and launches into a Yurchencko Double Pike.

A what?

The Yurchenko double pike — named after Soviet gymnast Natalia Yurchenko â€” is when a gymnast completes a roundoff back-handspring into the vault, then executes two full backward rotations with the legs extended into the landing.

As a gymnastics expert, I call this a "do not attempt."

Biles completes the move and sticks the landing. Really sticks it.

It's the perfect finish for a feat that was thought to be unattainable. She teased something was brewing back in February 2020.

That tease came to fruition, catching the eyes of the gymnastics world in the process.

Olympic gold-medalist Nastia Liukin shared her disbelief by tweeting "YOU. ARE. INSANE...."

Biles continues to prove the impossible is possible. If she pulls out this move at the U.S. Classic, it'll be the first time a woman has pulled it off in official competition.

With this in her repertoire, the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics is as good as hers.

I can't wrap my head around how this is even possible. I would probably need an oxygen tank halfway down the runway before crawling over the vault.

For all the kids out there who are looking to impress the Wendy Peffercorn of their pool this summer, don't get any ideas.

Simone makes it look too easy.
