Shaq Lawson claims to be best defensive end in the draft

Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson was pretty great in 2015 recording 86 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. Lawson knows those are pretty good numbers and showed his confidence in his abilities during an interview before the NFL Draft.

Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson was pretty great in 2015 recording 86 tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. Lawson knows those are pretty good numbers and showed his confidence in his abilities during an interview before the NFL Draft.

"I feel like I'm the best (defensive) end in this class," Lawson said on SiriusXM NFL Radio. "The tape shows it all."

He said that he feels comfortable with his hand in the dirt or standing up so that should help teams make a decision on him as well.

"I feel like half of my sacks this (past) year came standing up and half with my hand in the dirt," Lawson said. "I feel comfortable with it. I felt comfortable with it when I was doing it during the linebacker drills at the Combine."

He ran an official 4.70 40-yard dash time, he also recorded a 10 foot broad jump, an impressive 33" vertical jump, 7.16 time at the 3-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle time of 4.21. He is probably not wrong to say he's the best end in this class.
