
Saivion Smith was one of the better players in LSU's 2016 recruiting class, but it looks like he won't be a part of the team going forward. The former four-star recruit and No. 5 cornerback in the country will not be headed to another FBS program though as he will go down a level so that he can still play this year.

The 6'2", 192-pound cornerback appeared in 10 games for LSU in 2016, mostly as a reserve. He recorded four total tackles and two pass break ups at the position. He started his high school career at Lakewood High in St. Petersburg, Fla. before transferring to IMG Academy for his junior and senior seasons.
