Rumor: Charlie Strong done at Texas and his replacement all but official

The Texas Longhorns have not been the team boosters and the athletic department thought they would be when they hired Charlie Strong in January of 2014. They didn't give him any time to recruit that year (since National Signing Day was only a month away) and have still not given him a full recruiting to get the players into the program that he wants.

That hasn't stopped people from being upset with him or the team even though they should know that winning takes time and especially so under a new coach who needs to go out and compete for talent against the likes of Baylor, TCU and even some SEC schools like Missouri and Texas A&M. Strong has never really quite fit in at Texas with all of the boosters not liking the hire from the very beginning and now it looks like they already have a replacement for him.

Big rumor today is that Tom Herman to #Longhorns is "all but offical." Reliable sources saying what has been suspected for awhile now.

Tom Herman has been linked to several high profile jobs over the course of this year like LSU, Auburn (at one point) and Texas. It seems that his patience and great coaching at the University of Houston has paid off as he will likely become the head coach at big brother Texas.

Strong has gone 14-18 during his tenure at Texas and 10-12 in the conference. He has an overall record of 51-34 in his career as a head coach.
