Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher is rewarding one of his coaches that has decided to stick around Tallahassee. Last December, it was reported that FSU defensive coordinator Charles Kelly was offered $1.3 million by Auburn to replace now South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp Kelly ended up turning the job down, and on Friday it was reported by Tomahawk Nation's Bud Elliott that Kelly has earned a raise close to $300,000 partially due to the fact that he turned down the Auburn job.

Kelly was on salary for $583,000 at FSU, and Fisher's staff makes the ninth highest salary for assistants in the country — Auburn is second. Kelly was Florida State's linebackers and special teams coach during FSU's undefeated national title season in 2013. In 2014, Kelly's defense held eight of nine ACC opponents to fewer points in the second half than their first-half total and only allowed four fourth-quarter touchdowns to conference foes.
