UPDATE: The New York Jets acquired Zac Stacy for the 224th pick in the draft.
The St. Louis Rams made one of the most surprising moves in the first round when they chose Georgia RB Todd Gurley. It was definitely a shocking move because St. Louis already has a solid running back in Tre Mason and Zac Stacy and Benny Cunningham are solid backups, so running back was not a need.
Immediately after choosing Gurley, Stacy tweeted "Yikes," which is definitely a sign that he wasn't happy with the move. To further show his displeasure with the draft selection, Stacy spoke with Rams personnel and requested a trade, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
At one time, it looked like Stacy was going to be the starter for years to come. In 2013, he started the season as a backup but took over the starting job after rushing for over 100 yards four times and scoring seven touchdowns. Last season, Stacy just completely fell out of the picture. He rushed 61 times for 250 yards in the first five weeks and lost his job to Mason.
While Gurley is a star in the making, the pick won't make any sense until the team gets some offensive line help because that unit is pretty awful. Pro Football Focus had St. Louis ranked 31st in the NFL last season.
