Former Penn State offensive lineman Adam Gress has passed away, according to a report by 247Sports. Gress was 26.
Per that report, Gress passed away after hitting his head in a fall on Thursday. Gress had been most recently working as a construction site manager.
Gress was a former three-star recruit of the 2009 recruiting class, but he didn't get his chance to shine until his senior season in 2013. Gress, at a towering 6-foot-6 and 300-plus pounds, became a key piece of the Penn State starting offensive line that season, where he played at right tackle.
After his career at Penn State, Gress played in camp for both the New York Giants and the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he did not receiver a long-term offer from either team.
We send our thoughts and prayers to Gress's family and friends as they deal with this tragedy.
