The New England Patriots are down to Jacoby Brissett (a rookie) and wideout Julian Edelman at quarterback for Thursday night's tilt with the Houston Texans.
While Brissett filled in and helped the Patriots survive against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, he'll likely be needed in an advanced role on Thursday night.
If Brissett doesn't work out, or is injured, the Patriots would then rely on Edelman, who played quarterback at Kent State.
The #Patriots have done extensive preparation over the past few days to get WR Julian Edelman ready as the backup QB. It may actually happen

His lone NFL pass was on a trick play, when he tossed a bomb to Danny Amendola in the 2015 playoffs.
Thursday night's contest should be an entertaining one, even if Edelman doesn't take a snap at quarterback.
