Ohio State didn't win the national title this season, but they did find a way to get richer than every other program in college football. According to NBC Sports, Ohio State and Nike have agreed to a new 15-year deal that is reportedly worth $252 million.
From NBC Sports:
In June of last year, Michigan signed what was trumpeted as the richest shoe and apparel deal in college sports. Four months later, Texas trumped that.
Three months after that? Ohio State is the current Nike king of the money pile.
...
The total value over the life of the deal is reportedly $252 million; Texas' is worth $250 million, while Michigan's is now a "paltry" $170 million. All three of the deals are 15 years in length.
This is a pretty ridiculous deal, and it only adds to the estimate that Ohio State is the most valuable program in college football. Certainly the Buckeyes are well on their way to being given a value of ONE BILLION at some point in the near future.
