New York Giants defensive lineman Jay Bromley is reportedly under investigation for attempting to rape a woman at New York City hotel early Saturday morning. Tina Moore, Larry Celona and Natalie Musumeci of the New York Post reported Bromley met the alleged victim online and then in person at the hotel. She said he became violent after a consensual sexual act, tried to rape her and then hit her with his car as he left the hotel.
Bromley has not yet been arrested or charged with a crime. The report stated the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment and evaluation. "We are aware of the situation and will continue to monitor it," a Giants spokesman said. "We have notified the league office per the league's protocol. We will have no further comment as we understand this is an ongoing investigation."
Bromley played in all 16 games this past season and started four of them. He had 19 tackles and 17 assists for the 2016 season.
