Last month, we told you about New Orleans Saint running back Mark Ingram, who lost his mind when he was pulled on a goal line play because he was getting close to triggering a $100,000 bonus in his contract (based on yards gained).
Adam Vinatieri just out did Ingram —- not in terms of sideline tirade, but in terms of money lost.

Per Adam Shefter, this clause is in the Colts' kicker's contract:
Colts' kicker Adam Vinatieri
Has: 89.7 FG PCT this season.
Needs: 90% FG PCT for $500,000 this season.
Pressure FGs today.

So in the second quarter in Sunday's game against Jacksonville, Vinatieri —- who entered the game making 26 of 29 attempts —- lined up for a 48-yard field goal. The 44-year-old is in his 21st NFL season, and one of the best kickers of all time sent the ball off the right upright —- and missed.
There goes any shot at $500,000. That's a very expensive —- and painful —- missed field goal.
