Clemson and Miami met in the ACC Championship Game to pretty much decide who would end up in the College Football Playoff. Both teams had a loss to a less-than-good team —- Miami's to Pittsburgh and Clemson's coming to Syracuse —- but nothing they couldn't overcome. It would turn out to be Clemson's defense that was difficult to overcome for Miami as the Tigers won 38-3.
Clemson quarterback Kelly Bryant started out hot in the game completing his first 15 pass attempts, but cooled off a bit as he finished the game with 23-of-29 passing for 252 yards and a touchdown. He did get a rushing touchdown to go with Adam Choice's and Travis Etienne's rushing touchdowns. Even the normally shaky kicker in Alex Spence made a big 46-yard kick to put the Tigers up 24-0 in the third quarter when they were in danger of sputtering out on offense.
The defense finished with three turnovers with two interceptions and one fumble recovery during the game. It was a dominant performance throughout the entire game for Clemson and with a game like, the Tigers are looking like a heavy favorite to stay at No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings on Sunday.
