The college football season is young, but there are already some coaches trying to win games to save their jobs. According to ESPN's Mark Schlabach, two SEC coaches are already on the hot seat. Here's what he said about in a recent SEC roundup he wrote.
Amazingly, only two other active SEC coaches have beaten Saban's teams even once, and both of them — Malzahn and Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin — sit firmly on the hot seat after slow starts.
Sumlin could very well be fired in the middle of this season if his Aggies blow any more leads like they did against UCLA or if he finishes under nine wins. Malzahn has been disappointing for a couple seasons now, but fans gave him a break because he needed to get some better recruits. He has a supposed star quarterback in Jarrett Stidham, but he hasn't exactly gotten a chance to shine since his offensive line can't keep him upright.
Should either of these teams falter down the line you have to believe that the pink slip is coming and coming soon.
