Mark Richt is awkwardly trying to recruit players via social media

The Miami Hurricanes were loaded with offensive talent in 2016 and they will be looking to replace some of it for 2017 and beyond. The biggest loss is an obvious one, as quarterback Brad Kaaya moved on to the NFL after leading Miami's offense for multiple seasons. Still, the Hurricanes do return a 1,000-yard rusher in Mark Walton from last season's team, leaving the running game in good shape.

Unless you ask Mark Richt.

Miami's head coach bizarrely took to Twitter on Friday afternoon, and in a relatively brazen way, the former Georgia Bulldogs head coach put out a call for help at the running back spot.

Still looking for a graduate transfer RB! U Family!

— Mark Richt (@MarkRicht) May 12, 2017

Because Richt indicated that he was looking for a graduate transfer, it appears that he and his staff believe that the need is more so for 2017 than anything else. Most (not all) graduate transfers have only one year of eligibility remaining but, to be fair, the Hurricanes lost backup RB Joseph Yearby to the professional ranks and have little in the way of experience after Walton.

This is a bit out of character for the normally reserved Mark Richt but, as always, desperate times call for desperate measures and this apparently qualifies in Coral Gables.
