Brooks told 247Sports that Alabama coach Nick Saban has visited his school multiple times and was "showing me a lot of love."
He also said LSU coach Ed Orgeron was showing similar interest and promised an opportunity to play early.
"Coach O (Ed Orgeron) shows me a lot of love and came to see me a lot and the staff there recruits me really hard," Brooks said. "And (the opportunity of) playing early as a freshman."
Brooks had previously listed 25 FBS teams as potential schools of interest before narrowing down his selections to the two SEC programs.
The Flower Mound, Texas native has upcoming plans to visit Tuscaloosa this weekend and Baton Rogue next weekend.
Brooks currently ranks as the No. 7 outside linebacker, No. 15 prospect from the Lonestar State and the No. 111 overall prospect for the 2019 national recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite.
