The Jacksonville Jaguars have reportedly picked up the option on tight end Marcedes Lewis' contract, according to Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union.
Lewis, who was selected in the first-round of the 2006 draft, enters his 13th season with the Jaguars and is the franchise's longest current tenured player.
The former Pro Bowler started in all 16 of Jacksonville's regular season games in 2017 and recorded 24 receptions for 318 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass during the Jags' AFC Championship Game loss at New England last month.
According to O'Halloran, Jacksonville is still expected to draft a tight end in April, despite bringing back Lewis for another season.
The Jaguars also reportedly picked up the options on reserve offensive tackle Josh Wells and reserve guard/center Tyler Shatley.
Wells was acquired by the franchise in 2013 as an undrafted free agent and made four starts — three at right tackle and one at left tackle — as the team battled injuries on its offensive line.
Shatley also joined the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He made four stars during the past two seasons, including three at center in 2017 while Brandon Linder was inactive due to an illness.
