Line brawl breaks out in AHL game

Saturday in an AHL game between the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and the Hershey Bears we had an all out line brawl complete with 192 penalty minutes and linesman being pushed around like rag dolls. We've seen quite a few videos lately from quasi-professional leagues showing line brawls and fights gone out of control.

While entertaining, it's hard to take these fights seriously knowing that many of these leagues play up fighting to drive in spectators.  So this is what makes an AHL line brawl so different, these are two legitimate teams fighting one another.  The passion is real and the tempers are genuine making this fight less of a joke and more real.  If only the goalie fight had been better.

Hershey won the game 4-3.
