Lane Kiffin Offers 6-Month-Old Baby Boy a College Football Scholarship

A few months ago, Florida Atlantic head coach Lane Kiffin unofficially offered Cole Leinart, the 11-year-old son of former Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart, to add to his impressive way-too-early offer resume. Let's just say it didn't take long top his most ludicrous offer yet.

On National Signing Day, a time most coaches spend on the phone and waiting by the fax machine, Kiffin went to Twitter to blast a Miami Herald article that claimed Butch Davis and the Florida International Panthers are out-recruiting the Owls.

Then, the most unexpected thing happened.

In one of the replies to Kiffin's original tweet, a man named TimB from Charleston, South Carolina posted a picture of his 6-month-old son, who happens to already be 22 pounds and was apparently the second biggest baby ever born at that hospital.

So what does Kiffin do? Offer him a scholarship, of course, and make sure ESPN knows all about it.

From the sounds of it, FAU might have some competition here. The future offensive tackle or defensive tackle might also consider Virginia Tech or Clemson along with the Owls.

This is obviously a joke. There is no way Lane Kiffin can offer a scholarship to a middle school kid, let alone a toddler who isn't even walking. There is also no way to know if this nameless child will grow up to be a football player or if Kiffin will even still be coaching when he's eligible.

Kiffin would be over 70 years old by the time the Charleston prospect graduates high school.

However, during a day of high drama and emotion, it was hilarious to see Kiffin make a joke all college football fans could laugh at.
