Lakers coaches play trade deadline prank on Jordan Hill

Despite the Los Angeles Lakers frustrating season, forward/center Jordan Hill is having another nice season, averaging 12 points and eight rebounds. A lone bright spot on a difficult year, the Lakers reportedly will not seek to trade Hill, but that didn't stop the coaches from having some fun with him Wednesday.

A lone bright spot on a difficult year, the Lakers reportedly will not seek to trade Hill, but that didn't stop the coaches from having some fun with him Wednesday.

From OC Register:

"The Lakers have a handful of players who could be attractive to other teams, starting with forward Jordan Hill. Hill's contract carries a team option for next season, so he could be a cheap rental for a team looking to add frontcourt depth before the playoffs.

Hill was the victim of an age-old prank Wednesday when coaches told him Kupchak wanted to see him.

"He just started walking," Scott said, "(and was) like 'What's wrong? What's up?' Then we just started laughing."

It's a brutal joke as the next day or so will be incredibly stressful for players involved in trade rumors, but at least Hill is safe for now.
