Roper spent the past two seasons with South Carolina as the team's co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, having reunited with head coach Will Muschamp, who he coached under at Florida in 2014.

He also worked as an offensive analyst for the Cleveland Browns in 2015, as well as having held previous offensive assistant jobs at Tennessee, Kentucky and Ole Miss.

Despite a rocky tenure at South Carolina, Roper finished strong with a 26-19 victory over Michigan in the Outback Bowl on Monday.
