Kentucky survives upset bid from Vermont only second game into the season

Kentucky already got one win over the weekend with a 73-63 win over Utah Valley, but their game on Sunday against Vermont was not as easy. They got the win 73-69, but it didn't come without drama as Vermont was knocking on the door pretty much the entire second half.

They got within three and had a couple good looks to tie the game for overtime, but couldn't hit them. Here was the last look, which wasn't a bad play, but was well defended.

Kentucky forward P.J. Washington led all scorers with 17 points while chipping in 10 boards and guard Hamidou Diallo scored 16 points while dishing out three assists. Point guard Quade Green scored 15 points while dishing four assists and grabbing four rebounds.

Kentucky will play Kansas next on Tuesday in a marquee matchup on ESPN. That tipoff is set for 9:30 p.m.
