Alabama more than took care of its business with a 24-7 win over Florida State in its opening game. That has the majority of people believing the Crimson Tide is the best team in the country since the Seminoles were ranked No. 3 in the country before the game. However, ESPN analyst Joey Galloway thinks another team deserves to be considered the top team in the country.
While Clemson did put a whooping on Kent State to the tune of a 56-3 score, that is not nearly the caliber of opponent that Alabama faced. And while the Tigers should be highly ranked, making them the top team just because they won the title last year is a bit ridiculous.
The defense lost a bunch of players while the offense lost a huge talent in quarterback Deshaun Watson as well as several receivers. However, a new season should mean a new outlook on rankings and who belongs where. Unless you're Joey Galloway, then you just make up reasons why Alabama shouldn't be the top team.
