Gus Malzahn believes the SEC Network is 'all about' one thing, and it isn't helping coaches

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn apparently is not a fan of the SEC Network. During an appearance at the American Football Coaches Association Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday, Malzahn said the network was "supposed to be really cool when it started" but is now "all about trying to get the coach fired."

Gus Malzahn: "This SEC Network was supposed to be really cool when it started three or four years ago. Now it's all about trying to get the coach fired."

SEC Network first launched in August 2014 and has provided 24-hour coverage of the league's sports, most prominently football.

During that span, seven coaches have been fired while only four have remained with the same program — Malzahn being among the minority.

That's provided the network with plenty of content, although the constant discussions may have forced the hands of several programs.

Either way, it doesn't seem to be slowing down the network's success as it continues to strive heading into its fifth season in 2018.
