Dukes Grayson Allen recovering after missing the last three months of basketball training ·

Duke guard Grayson Allen shocked a lot of people when he elected to return to Duke for another season under head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Allen will be the senior leader for the team this fall, but he'll be doing it coming off ankle surgery, as Coach K revealed on ESPN's Seth Greenberg's podcast that the controversial star had a "minor operation on his ankle" this offseason.

Via The Spun:

"We had him away from basketball for about three months," Krzyzewski said of Allen. "He had a minor operation on his ankle. He's now fully recovered, so his athleticism is back. He's happy, he's in shape and he's sharing that."

It doesn't sound like this hamper Allen by the time the 2017-18 CBB season starts, but, with the loss of guard Luke Kennard, the Blue Devils need a big, bounce-back year from Allen.

Allen averaged 14.5 points per game for the Dukies last season.
